Per Florida House Bill 19 (2023), which amends s. 1003.5716, F.S., requires individual education plans (IEPs) for students, upon turning 17, to contain information on self-determination and the legal rights and responsibilities that transfer to students at age 18; requires information to include ways in which the student may provide informed consent to allow his or her parents to continue to participate in educational decisions. |
Graduation Requirements |

Per Florida House Bill 1 (2023), which amends s. 1003.4282, F.S., deletes the online course requirements for a standard high school diploma. |
Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career Planning |
2023 |
Per Florida Senate Bill 240 (2023), which amends several Florida Statutes, requires districts to disseminate CTE information to parents, and enhances continuity of students’ CTE enrollment in/from middle school to high school. Senate Bill 240 (2023) also enhances students’ career and academic plans via an online career planning system. |

Per Florida House Bill 173 (2021), which amends s. 1003.5716, F.S., revises the timeline and introduces additional activities for the transition individual education plan (TIEP) requirements in Florida. |
Middle Grade Promotion Requirements |
2020 |
S. 1003.4156, F.S. is amended to include one course in career and education planning to be completed in grades 6, 7, or 8 and results in the completion of a personalized academic and career plan. |
Graduation Requirements |

S. 1008.25, F.S. is amended to include a Career and Technical Education graduation pathway. |
Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) |
