VISIONS 2020 sponsored by Florida Division on Career Development and Transition (FLDCDT)
To our Florida DCDT members, conference participants, presenters, vendors, scholarship recipients and all other hard working professionals who serve the transition needs of our youth with unique abilities, after significant deliberation, the FLDCDT Board recently voted to postpone the 2020 VISIONS Conference scheduled for April 15-17, in Orlando, Florida. The virus has been an unfortunate surprise to us all and for the good of everyone involved, it was necessary to move the conference to the Fall. We don’t yet have an exact date but if you were already registered, we will be sending you a Save the Date in the near future. Save the Date! 3rd Annual Making Wellness a Priority: Healthy Minds & Healthy Futures Conference
This exciting statewide conference will bring together national and local speakers and presentations to share innovative and proven practical approaches in the area of secondary transition of youth with emotional and mental health disabilities, specifically addressing employment, community engagement and systems of care.
Date: October 26-28, 2020
Location: Marriott Sawgrass Resort, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Registration and hotel reservation information will be forthcoming.
The call for presentations is now open. Presenters are invited to submit workshop proposals that will be selected based on proposals that address evidence-based interventions, innovative and proven practical approaches in the area of transition of youth with emotional disabilities, specifically addressing graduation, employment, community engagement and systems of care.
The deadline to submit a proposal is Monday, March 23, 2020.

Cloud: A Town Hall Discussion on Taking Transition Online
Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT) wants to provide transition practitioners with the opportunity to simply talk with each other and gain insight from each other on delivering transition services during these changing times. Dr. Andrew Scheef and Dr. Al Daviso will be facilitating an informal DCDT Town Hall on delivering transition services online and in the home.

The Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) presents E-Learning in Challenging Times: 5 Ways to Support Students with Complex Support Needs
In this webinar, Dr. Paula Kluth will address new challenges teachers and families are facing in the age of e-learning. She will provide five recommendations for making the most out of the virtual classroom. The session includes recommendations for working with families, ideas collaborating with paraprofessionals and suggestions for connecting learning objectives to activities completed at home.
