Resources for Teachers and Families
Project 10 has developed this webpage as a way to provide a collection of resources that support teachers and families to address the educational needs of students with disabilities while learning from home. New resources will be added on an on-going basis.

Helpful Online Transition-Related Resources
Project 10 developed this list of resources to support teachers and transition stakeholders who are teaching and providing transition services to students with disabilities through distance learning methods. The core of the document is focused on five separate courses, including the following: Self-Determination, Transition Planning, Career Preparation, Career Experience and Preparation for Adult Living. The course requirements for students are described in four tables and include curriculum, instruction, lesson plans and video resources to support instructional development.

General Resources

American Sign Language Videos Related to the Cares Act Stimulus Funds
These brief videos translate important financial information related to COVID-19, the Cares Act stimulus funds and strategies to build financial resilience during this time for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The first three videos posted cover the following topics:

  • Do you qualify for the Stimulus Payment if you receive government benefits?
  • Do you qualify for the Stimulus Payment if you work? 
  • Managing your Money: Why does your money disappear?

Disability Issues Brief: The ADA and Face Mask Policies
The Southeast ADA Center has put together a fact sheet with answers to questions about the issue of face mask policies, reasons why a person with a disability might not be able to wear a face mask, alternatives to wearing a face mask and the legal rights a person has under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on the use of face masks by individuals with a disability.

Plain Language Information on COVID-19
This 8-page booklet about the Coronavirus is written in plain language. It was created by and for people with developmental disabilities. It focuses on “need to know” information (not “nice to know” information). It is also available in 11 languages.

Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities (FCSUA)'s COVID-19 Resources
This webpage features COVID-19 information and resources relevant to postsecondary education for people with intellectual disabilities, including topical information such as health, virtual learning and teaching, career and employment, among others.

Florida Developmental Disabilities (FDDC), Stress and What You Can Do About It
This full color book, developed by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC), guides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a graphically attractive and easy-to-read lesson in the basics of stress and stress management. Available for download in English or Spanish.

FDDC, Easing Your Stress: Information for Caregivers of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
This publication developed by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC), addresses stress and stress management for caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In its 24 pages, caregivers learn how the mind-body connection affects response to stress; how stress affects children; how other caregivers have learned to ease their stress; and how to identify approaches and resources that will work for them. Available for download in English or Spanish.

FDDC, My Health Care
This guide was developed by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC) and created for educators and families to promote positive attitudes toward students with disabilities; increase respect and acceptance of individual differences; increase understanding of disabilities and related social issues; and facilitate the development of English and language arts skills through activities about disability awareness. All program materials, including instructor training videos, can be viewed and downloaded by clicking here.

FDDC, Disability Awareness through English and Language Arts: Resources for Middle School and High School
This guide was developed by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC) and created for educators and families to promote positive attitudes toward students with disabilities; increase respect and acceptance of individual differences; increase understanding of disabilities and related social issues; and facilitate the development of English and language arts skills through activities about disability awareness. Florida Social Emotional Learning (SEL): Move this World
Move this World is offering a summer series of video exercises to help children develop social emotional learning skills. This curriculum will be free to districts to access this summer. The summer series will include five weeks of programming focusing on self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making.

Resource Materials and Technology Center for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (RMTC-D/HH)
