Guide to the Florida Juvenile Justice System for Parents of Youth with Disabilities or Chronic Health Conditions (available in English and Spanish)
Developed by a multi-agency group led by Florida Health and Transition Services (FloridaHATS) and Project 10, the guide was written for families of youth, including those with special health care needs, who have been referred to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Services for prevention, probation, detention, residential commitment, education, and health are discussed in an easy-to-read Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) format. Resources are listed at the end of the guide.
The guide can be downloaded by section or in full. Additional resources are provided on the FloridaHATS Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) page.
