    2025 Project 10 Winter Institutes

    February 18-19, 2025

The Project 10 Winter Institutes Opening Session had a different flavor this year that included an interview-like format and more opportunities for participants to ask questions of the presenters. The slate of presenters included the following:

    • Project 10 Update with Donna Phillips, Director, and Franklin Coker, Assistant Director.
    • Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) Secondary Transition Update with Noal Weiland, State Lead for Secondary Transition.
    • BEESS presentation on High School Graduation and Dropout Coding with Kim Brumage, School Counselor Consultant. Q & A led by Franklin Coker, Project 10 Assistant Director.
    • Career and Technical Education (CTE) Interview with Sally Weaver, CTE Coordinator at Wakulla High School with Tracy Dempsey, Project 10 Regional Transition Representative for Region 1. Additional Q & A led by Franklin Coker, Project 10 Assistant Director.

The Winter Institutes also feature regional meetings in which the Regional Transition Representatives (RTRs) meet with school and district secondary transition educators from the districts in their regions. These regional meetings give the opportunity for secondary transition educators to examine data that represents the regions in which they serve. RTRs lead a session that includes a review of the Federal Transition Indicators 1, 2, 13, and 14. Discussion includes cross-district sharing that enables districts to support each other with strategies that have been effective in their settings.
