Access to the Common Core for Exceptional Student Success (ACCESS) Project
This discretionary project from the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) provides lesson planning, instructional tools and professional development in the Common Core Standards for teachers to support positive outcomes for students with significant cognitive disabilities taking the Florida Standards Alternate Assessment (FSAA).

Assessing Fidelity of Implementation: Check & Connect Coordinator Practice Profile and Rating Rubric
The purpose of this practice profile is to focus on the critical components of the coordinators’ role and monitor the execution and application of those components, thereby determining the fidelity of implementation. The critical components of the Check & Connect coordinator position include: building relationships with mentors; systematic monitoring of mentor data collection and monitoring form; provision of mentor meetings bi-monthly, and providing professional development once a month; communicating with leadership team once a month; including updating action plan and review of data.

This document provides an overview of Check & Connect in Florida, including online resources, training availability, and mentor funding models. Because schools and districts that are not currently targeted by SPDG have expressed interest in implementing Check & Connect, the SPDG has developed this document to provide information on resources and supports that are available to those schools and districts.
