Resources in this section build on materials developed by the Florida Department of Education to help educators, students, and families answer student career exploration questions such as:  Where am I going?  Where can I find information on careers, the labor market, career clusters, and connecting school to work?

Career Cruiser Career and Education Planning Guide
Student activities in this publication include checklists, games, and information on "cool jobs", career clusters, career and technical education, and more.   

Career Cruiser Teacher’s Guide
This guide contains Career Cruiser lesson plans and activities.

This new online planning tool is called MyCareerShines and will be implemented in phases beginning in the 2015-2016 school year. With MyCareerShines, Floridians will be able to explore careers, identify personal preferences for future employment, and learn about the educational requirements for specific professions 

Parent Primer on Career Exploration 
Parent resources include information on career clusters, workplace changes, and high demand jobs.

SIMPLY Careers! Helping Students with Disabilities Effectively Plan their Futures through Comprehensive Career Development: A Guide for Persons Involved in Transition Planning
Educator resources for Steps 2 and 3 (Career Focus and Career Research/Pathway) of the seven step career development process include information on matching interests and talents with career focus areas, researching careers and occupations, and reproducible masters for career focus cards, career pathway cards, and a career research activity sheet.  

More Successful Transition Planning:  20 Top Questions and Ways to Answer Them
This resource answers questions asked by students and teachers about careers and occupations and how they relate to secondary and post-secondary education. Student worksheets are included. (Registration required.)

Technical Assistance Paper (TAP):  Non-Paid Community-Based Vocational Educational (CBVE) Programs
This TAP discusses guidelines and issues for non-paid CBVE vocational exploration which briefly exposes students to a variety of work settings in order to investigate their interests, values, beliefs, strengths, and needs in relation to characteristics of work environment. 

Florida Disability Mentoring Day
This event promotes career development for students and job-seekers with disabilities through job shadowing and hands-on career exploration.

Florida High School/High Tech
A community-based partnership designed to provide high school students with disabilities the opportunity to explore jobs or postsecondary education leading to technology- related careers by providing a broad range of academic, career development and experiential resources and experiences.

High School/High Tech Program Guide
Educator resource that describes the five components of HS/HT and provides information on launching, sustaining, managing, evaluating, and marketing a HS/HT program. 

Paving the Way to Work: A Guide to Career Focused Mentoring
This educator resource contains information on designing mentoring programs for youth, including youth with disabilities, in the transition phase to adulthood.

U.S. Department of Labor Employment & Training Administration (DOLETA) Job & Career Information    
Free on-line career exploration resources include links to Career Voyages, O*Net On-line, CareerOneStop, Career Guide to Industries, Occupational Outlook Quarterly, and career videos.
