Disability Statistics

Cornell University's Employment and Disability Institute provides national and state statistics that link employment and disability on its Disability Statistics website at http://www.disabilitystatistics.org/. Statistical categories include employment rates, earnings, SSI, educational attainment, veterans, poverty, health insurance coverage, household income, and more.

The Disability Statistics website also contains a Rehabilitation Data Directory that provides basic summaries and full profiles of 21 large administrative and research datasets. A new data set, the Disability and Compensation Cross-Dataset Variable Catalog, will be available soon. It will contain information on over 1,800 variables related to disability and employer practice from eleven major national surveys and administrative data sets.

If you still can’t find the statistics you need, technical assistance is available through the Disability Statistics website, or you can send emails directly to disabilitystatistics@cornell.edu.

For more information on disability and employment, see Resources Related to the Employment of People with Disabilities at http://www.project10.info/DetailPage.php?MainPageID=130&PageCategory=Employment&PageSubCategory=Main
