Reading Accessibility

A number of reading resources exist to assist people who are blind or who have visual or reading disabilities:

Bookshare
Bookshare is the world’s largest online library of accessible reading materials for people with print disabilities. Individuals can sign up for membership and gain unlimited access to accessible books, newspapers, and magazines. Bookshare also offers free memberships to schools and qualifying students in the United States through an award from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs.

LibriVox
LibriVox provides free audio recordings of books and publications that are available in the public domain, i.e., were published before 1923. It also provides community podcasts, forums, and a wiki.

Learning Ally
The Florida Department of Education has partnered with Learning Ally to help Florida students with certified print disabilities succeed in school and beyond. Learning Ally has the world’s largest audio textbook library with over 80,000 human-narrated books that are audio-only or VOICEtext, Learning Ally's unique learning solution that highlights words and sentences as students read. Students can enjoy Learning Ally books by downloading their free app to school computers, Chromebooks and to students’ iOS or Android smartphones or tablets.
